The NHS has no excess capacity ... like ... none. That is the panic. It's not a matter of "it wont be as bad as people think" - it can't be any amount of bad. Forget "a million cases a day" ... if hospital requirements increase 20% people are going to die in the corridors. If ambulance requirements increase 20% people are going to die in their homes (of non-covid things).
