It’s not a comment you can ‘choose to like or dislike’, and it isn’t a ‘joke’ either, it was a scripted and distastefully executed sentence with no meaning or thought behind it whatsoever, for a few cheap giggles.

Justifying the deaths of half a million, on Holocaust Memorial Day, is not something you ‘can laugh along with’. Their deaths were not justified, no matter how hard you try, even if they do have a ‘bad’ reputation.

Would you be laughing along if I said, on the 15th April, that the Hillsbrough disaster was a positive, as 97 football hooligans with their bad reputations were murdered?

Personally I don't support people being censored over jokes, I never have done and never will do.

If an idiot wants to make a distasteful joke about the Hillsborough Disaster then let them, I just won't support them by watching that content.

He wouldn’t have to be censored if he hadn’t made such an insensitive comment in the first place, he needs to learn to keep his trap shut, just like when he genuinely believed minimum wage was £13, and working class comedians had to embarassingly correct him.

No one is laughing with him with this joke, the audience laughter is edited in, or they are ‘told to laugh’ look a the backlash he’s getting from it

I personally believe that if Jimmy Carr ****s up then that's on him, and it should be on him alone.

If as a society we censor everything that we don't want to hear then we can't complain when eventually the censor hammer lands on a Celebrity that we like.

Imo a backlash is fine as long as people don't try to ruin these people's careers over it.

I agree with this. I'm usually very much against the cancel culture stuff but making a 'joke' about thousands of people losing their lives is a step too far.

As Glib's said, most of that laughter was probably canned laughter.

I doubt that many people would laugh at a Holocaust joke, I'd like to hope anyway.
