Exactly.
Before COVID , when anyone had the flu they stayed home because otherwise they'd spread it.

Obviously when you have the flu you can't function, you feel sick . So it's both actually.

no one is talking about the flu - the analogy is a cold where most people (unless you work for the council) would come into work - ie a condition that most adults just get on with

It's called personal responsibility

Also, i'm sure im not alone in stashing away plenty test kits while they are available for free, the writing has been on the wall for ages
I have been sneakily ordering online...you used to be able to order one pack a day ...now it’s every 3 days

Although I picked 2 boxes up in Sainsbury’s today ..I will have to build a shed soon to hold the booty

[The prime minister says the
"pandemic is not over" but we
have "passed the peak" of the Omicron wave.

Vaccines and treatments will form
the "first line of defence" going forward.

All remaining domestic restrictions will be lifted, the PM confirms.

The legal requirement to isolate following a positive test will end on Thursday.

Vaccinated contacts and those under
18 will no longer be told to test themselves
for seven days after coming into contact
with someone who has COVID.

Self isolation payments will end, while
there will be an end to routine contact tracing.

Labour MP queries how people will be able
to access anti-virals
Hillary Benn asks how people will be able to access
COVID anti-viral drugs, given one of the requirements
to get them is to test positive.

Boris Johnson says in response that
"people who are symptomatic will of course
continue to have access to testing".]

There has to be some light at the end of the tunnel. Despite the terrible leadership of the government, we must be getting somewhere.

Less people are dying, and now when most people test positive it's mild symptoms. Our strong immune system and being vaccinated must have helped.

Yes it started in Botswana
then moved to South Africa and the world.
Omicron has changed everything.

Testing is free until the 1st of April.

Then in England it will cost.

PCR tests remain free if you have symptoms, all they are doing is removing regular tests that people took in case they were positive and didnt know it.

You can walk into work with the flu, spread it around while you are asymptomatic. We dont take any tests for it

When it costs Money to buy test kits,I don't think many people will bother testing.
It should always be free, but typical greedy government.
