The Germans were unstoppable, too. No one had even slowed them down. I thought all the "It woz the english alone what won the war" types would be a little more gung-ho. I thought not pushing crazy destruction and war was dangerous leftism?

To be serious though, there is a bit of a stand off really. Putin has obviously made the calculation thus far, that exterminating civilians whilst at the same time claiming to be a liberator, doesn't really add up. As soon as he starts levelling cities, then the facade slips, and there is no going back to the propaganda war and any claims he's made to his army and his population have been proved false. Lots of his soldiers are already demoralised, believing they were going there as liberators.
