Was about to watch it last night ,not realising it was
'part 2' . So now I'll watch both episodes on catch-up at some point. Kyle needs to take responsibility for his rude arrogant behaviour ( but I don't think he ever will) . He exploited & mocked the guests on his show, therefore it was the best decision it got AXED. |

I haven't watched it. However you have to look at the show from all angles. The majority of people on it were all cut from the same cloth. Poorly educated, drug dealers/users and probably a majority on benefits with 6 kids in tow. The chance of earning some extra cash was a massive temptation....as for JK himself he was imo told to behave like that in the name of 'Drama' and TV appeal...but for that he takes a responsibility.
Sadly it was bound to backfire at some point and tragicly someone took their own life as a result of the humiliation. |

Haven't watched this but would be interested too.
I assume the lie detector results were discussed in this. I always felt when watching Jeremy Kyle that the lie detector results were less than credible and would be manipulated to suit to have the maximum effect on causing the most drama. It often seem that they'd give a truth result to something less serious and then a lie result to something more serious and then when the individual complained Jeremy would use the line "Well you passed the first one so are you saying that was wrong also." the stupidity of it all was infuriating and definitely felt like the individual was getting set up.

In the end Jeremy Kyle show just felt like a mean spirited mockery of it's original format, when he started back in 2005? was it ??.... maybe the premise WAS to try and HELP people. But as the years rolled by things took a dive from bad to worse ,with how he talked to the guests with how he interrupted them and always thought the worst of them. He treated the lie detector as if it was 100% proof that someone was deceitful which was ridiculous. In the end he just made them probably more miserable than they were to start with. He didn't settle or work out anything. But all he cared about was his viewing figures in the end and being mr big shot face of daytime . I always found it degrading how some guests would gush over him,and put him on a pedestal like he was this 'great big meaningful public figure trying to do good' or something . When in reality he was a gobby idiot and his programme is about humiliating people . He got off on his little catchphrases from "put something on the end of it " & " it's my show" to "i want to lie in a dark room" , it became more about his egocentric self , and less about being concerned for these people . The bloke got far too big for his boots & the 'banter' he had with his bodyguard steve got so awkward and silly. If Steve didn't work for him.. HE WOULD FLATTEN HIM easily in a different environment . It's as if Kyle didn't care or forgot that these were real people with real issues, he saw it all as fair game to belittle and insult all for "entertainment", he had the studio audience constantly eating out the palm of his hand. His smugness and cockiness was very off putting in recent years. I know there's been some unpleasant guests on his show , but that's besides the point. Kyle & the production team thought it was ok to treat these people as objects like some twisted game. He knew all types from poor uneducated , to junkies to anger problems to liars to mental issues would be on his show . And yes some would enjoy their 5 minutes of fame whilst staying in a hotel for free, whilst others wouldn't care about wasting time . But other guests on there clearly felt embarrassed & nervous to even be on a tv show like that ,as it's not exactly something to be proud of . But Kyle still exploited them. Kyle is scum so he deserves to get his comeuppance, however he's not exactly the only person on TV that's guilty of being a part of the exploitive "poverty porn" programming that was rampant in this country some years ago. C4 themselves couldn't get enough of benefits type shows. It does feel like he is being made into a scapegoat somewhat.

Yeah the producers and those involved behind the scenes are also to blame, they did some scummy things . But Kyle was still the host and needs to take a huge chunk of responsibility. He drowned people out with his fog horn voice, and he took pleasure in treating them like dirt. I wouldn't exactly say he's been made a "scapegoat" , I'm just watching the programme now and other people involved in the programme Backstage etc feel guilty and know they didn't help matters . Kyle enjoyed every minute of prodding away at these guests and shouting in their faces. He thinks they're beneath him, he enjoyed kicking them when they were down. |

They ALL exploited them in the name of 'entertainment'....so none of them were 'decent human beings'. |

They were like the freak shows of the victorian era, entertained by mocking those less educated, socially nuanced or the addicted. Many of those baying for kyle blood will be the same ones who watched those shows and sneered when the young mum struggled to cope as the camera deliberately pans to a bright house 55in TV.

Always said this the worst show on TV. The only thing that shocked me watching the Doc was the woman's Jermey Kyle tattoo.

And nobody said anything about guests being prodded & provoked backstage on her show, whereas with Kyle there seems to be more manipulation and horrible treatment. And even Jerry Springer & Ricky Lake tried to communicate properly with guests , they always came across as likeable hosts. I know people find their programs trash ( and yes I agree), but we all know the American ones were more staged and panto ish anyway,it always felt like Springer & Lake felt awkward in the centre of the mess, but they'd have to just laugh it off. |

The woman with the Kyle tattoo has now changed her tune a bit , she is now coming to terms with how badly Kyle & his team treated her partner. I think she was probably in denial or naive . She knows she's worse off yet Kyle still has a job in radio. I think her seeing his mug on the newspaper probably upset her further. The sad thing is her partner probably never cheated on her ,as it's now been revealed that these dodgy 'lie detectors' are only 65 - 70%!! accurate, yet they use to lie to the guests & audience and say it was over 90%, Utterly disgusting. Poor guy had mental health issues and needed help,he should never have gone on the Kyle show. As mentioned in this thread there's been other deaths aswell. Even a member of the production team took her own life aswell. Last edited by GoldHeart; 16-03-2022 at 06:54 PM. |

I don’t disagree with you…but all these shows no matter how likeable the hosts were…they were dealing with desperate people willing to expose their dirty laundry for a few hundred pounds. The producers and their hosts were more than happy to let these vulnerable people be exploited in the name of entertainment. Whilst Jeremy may have been the worst they all have to take some responsibility in being part of distasteful TV… |

Bear in mind most of the guests who go on JK show are on medication, have mental health issues or learning difficulties & are very vulnerable so they were taken advantage of . But i wonder if she now regrets that awful tattoo of Kyle's name. Yep typical how he played victim, and that's the very thing he always accused his guests of doing when he belittled and mocked them by saying they're doing a "poor me" act . When he has his ugly mug all over radio and in the papers trying to give a sob story. He's a utter hypocrite and he has zero empathy for anyone but himself. |

Of course she doesn't regret the tattoo...she adores him, it's only due to backlash she's been advised to say she does. If she plays the victim now too she can stay on the gravy train and serialise her harrowing tale in every red top and tv/chat mag.
Kyle had a cult following, my guess is he still has.
