As long as the driver isn't drinking, I don't see what the issue is with passengers having a little tipple on a coach trip.

In the old days you could have a smoke and a drink on a charabanc trip and a train journey. That was real freedom.
I used to love getting the first class train from London to Edinburgh with 4 cans of Stella, a copy of the Face and 2 bags of salt and vinegar.

No phones or nowt just the window to look out of.
