So the answer to Clue 2 is....
Look at the middle initials on the gravestone. Why would someone paint over it. Could it be that it would give the identity of someone else or people away. Cherie was definitely on to something. Now look a the middle initials. And look at our character names. |

Gathered here tonight are
Jessie Foster 39 years of age. Talented Jazz Singer. Married to a notorious gangster. Allen Foster. She feels very safe around him as she's built up a number of enemies over her years. She broke quite a lot of hearts in her younger days. Lady Katie is her best friend and they have shared many secrets. Lady Katie had told Jessie she was feeling nervous about hosting the ball. Especially because she has felt an unease in the past week that she was being watched by someone Allen Foster 54 years of age. Notorious Criminal and Gangster. The police know better than to confront him or his men. He is in regular communication with any criminals in the area. He has had word that one of his rival gang members has been watching Tibbington Manor for some time. Wanting to get his hands on some expensive jewellery that belongs to Lady Katie. Elmer Finley He has been writing to Lady Katie for some time about his adventures. He has fallen in love with her and wants to marry her. He planned on proposing to her at the ball. Before he started his aviation and adventurer tours he was a police officer Horace Daniels 60 years old Famous film director who had directed Lady Katie in many films. He has fallen in love with Lady Katie although she shows no interest in him. There are rumours to get his film directing started 30 years ago he had commited a crime and landed on some money he never deserved. A false story according to Horace Erma Green 25 years old. Talented Broadway Actress. Receiving rave reviews and lots of attention. Horace has set his sights on Erma for his next movie. Something that has greatly offended Lady Katie. Erma is convinced Lady Katie has only invited her tonight to humiliate her Clyde Henry 36. Clyde is a famous artist. Lady Katie wishes Clyde to paint a portrait of her for her to hang above the fireplace. Clyde has been painting since he was a young teenager and he seems to recognise Tibbington Manor but can't yet work out why Dr Lillian Sykes Lady Katie's niece. Lady Katie is very proud of her niece because of her amazing achievements in the world of science. She has invited her to the ball to show her off to her friends. But does Lillian have her own reasons to want to be there? Audrey Morgan 44. A talented dancer. Been dancing since her late teens. She has worked with both Erma Green and Jessie Foster. Outspoken and a drunkard she is often getting herself into trouble. But she didn't have the easiest of childhoods James Sanders 20.James is Lady Katie's butler. He is hard working and loyal but there isn't a thing that goes on in the house that he doesn't hear about Nellie Moss 30. Nellie is the head maid in Tibbington Manor. She has noticed some staff acting very suspiciously and is on high alert with the ball approaching Dame Teresa Warren 60 years old. Dame Teresa is very well known in the fashion industry and a good friend of Lady Katie's. She made most of the dresses the ladies have on tonight. She came from a very privileged background and came close to marrying a royal Prince when she was in her 20s Jonathan Blackwell Journalist for the local paper. Lady Katie wants everyone to hear about her fabulous ball at Tibbington Manor. But due to her suspicions something bad may happen she has invited him to have a key witness writing down . __________________

Audrey: Me difficult, try having to grow up with you! Dame Teresa: Excuse me. I gave up everything for you. I could have been married to a Prince! When he saw I took on a family he didn't want anything to do with me. Audrey we were paupers but I did my very best for you. Thankfully we all made our way back up in the world. Audrey: Ok I'm sorry Aunty Teresa cut to a scene with Nellie and James Nellie: James did you just hear that. Audrey just called Dame Teresa Aunty!! James: I thought those two always hated one another Nellie: Me too. Well that's very mysterious....Oh my goodness....the portrait James! Enter Jonathan Blackwell Nellie: Jonathan you need to come quickly with us. Perhaps you can find some old newspapers when you head back to your office. But for now we need to go and look at the portrait on the grand staircase. Hurry let's go James: Which portrait? Jonathan: What are you talking about Nellie: Hurry!! They look at this Portrait Nellie: I just thought this was some nice artwork Lady Katie had put up. But it may have been here for some time. Those two young women. Late teens perhaps? James: Yes what about them Jonathan: Hang on I read a lot of stories about the Crowther family. The lady that is sat down...Isn't that Hyacinth Crowther. Nellie: Yes! But who is stood up, look!!! James: Dame Theresa Nellie: They knew one another l, look how similar they look, like...Sisters! James: Hyacinth and Teresa were sisters? Jonathan: oh my goodness Nellie: Which means Audrey is Hyacinths child! James: But I heard Teresa say took on a family! Does that mean... Jonathan: The children were still alive! Nellie: Are still alive and at least one of them is here!! [Join us for Chapter Four] |

I think all three children are still alive and are Audrey, Lillian and Jonathan Blackwell.
I did have a theory that the gravestone initials spelt out Jack S. So could that mean the butler James Saunders. Initials are the same? Jake said I was close in some way?

I was thinking that Audrey/Jessie and Clyde were possibly the surviving children…due to their ages at the time to what they would be to the time this is taking place…

Chapter 4
All the guests hear screams near the grand staircase and go running towards the noise Dr Lillian: Aaaaaahhh someone help. I just went to the bathroom and I return and I find them Horace: Who? Dr Lillian: Look....Up! [Horace looks upstairs to the balcony. Hanging from it are Audrey and Clyde] Nellie: That's tragic. That's all of them Erma: All of who? James: The Crowther children Lady Katie: I thought all the Crowther children were dead Elmer: Yes...I saw that with my own eyes. They were under the floorboards.... Jonathan: Well that's interesting Elmer! What exactly did you see under the floorboard? Elmer: Skeletons. 2 young girls and 1 young boy. Nellie: It was definitely the Crowthers? Elmer: Well yes who else could it have been Nellie: It was never examined?! Erma: So Jessie, Audrey, Clyde, they were the Crowther children all along James: Sadly yes! Horace: This would make for an amazing film Lady Katie: Oh Horace you and your films. And who would I play, myself? Horace: Well I was thinking of giving the lead to Erma...It could be her big break Lady Katie: Carry on like that and I'll ask you to leave Dr Lillian: Anyway...you mean to tell me to police never examined the bodies? Who was part of the investigation? Elmer: Just me. I buried them in the grave with their mum and dad...who I thought was their mum and dad.. Dr Lillian: Elmer did someone get you to hide a secret Elmer: Right....Yes....I may as well be honest...I was written this letter...they paid me a lot of money, I was able to quit being a policeman and go on dream adventures...I needed the money...I'm...I'm so sorry Allen: Am I the only one that is concerned that there is a killer in the house? Dame Teresa: Oh my goodness your right...someone here is the killer! Lady Katie: Elmer this letter...what did it say? Elmer: Well actually I brought it with me. Coming to this house..I felt I should bring it. So here is what it says Work out the clues and join us for our penultimate chapter in Chapter 5 |
