Honestly it’s just the situation ..

I once spent a week on a hospital ward full of old guys .. after spending every hour with them .. eating every meal together, chatting about the daily news and our visitors.. I found myself regarding most of them as real close friends and one irritated me intensely.

I was the youngest and was real poorly and they all looked after me .

I never kept in touch with any of them yet some of us exchanged phone numbers and addresses and for a time they were my closest friends
