Of course there was some racism in certain sections of the press, nobody is denying that. It’s not a perfect world. There is far worse racism in certain parts of the USA than there will ever be in the UK, but Meghan, according to her family and the friends she grew up with, never had a problem with racism growing up in California. She went to exclusive schools which were absolutely racially diverse with well off pupils from all over the world. Meghan would not have stood out one bit, far from it. Her neighbourhood was racially diverse. Her friends were racially diverse. Do you know anything about her life, from her own mouth and from those who she grew up with?

The point I’m making is that Meghan and the likes of her cheerleaders Shola and Omid Scobie and her admirers are using her skin colour now to divert from valid criticism of someone whose actions, presentation and motives are very polarising and questionable to say the least. She never presented herself as a ‘proud black woman’ until she could use it to her advantage. That, to me, is disgusting and an example of racism in itself.

Should a very unlikeable, bullying, lying black woman be allowed a pass that a very unlikeable, bullying, lying white woman wouldn’t get to save those who dislike her from being labelled as racist? Absolutely not, though many use that as their trump card, just like Meghan herself.

Before I address the bit I want to, I want to make clear that I'm not calling you racist.

So the myth that minorities or PoC get away with stuff that the honkys would never be allowed to, despite centuries of historical and contemporary evidence, is inherently racist. It just is.
