Under Southgate England's reached a semi-final & a final.

That to me is performing really well, after all England isn't good enough with this squad to win any of these tournaments.

We had extremely easy routes to the semi and the final plus we had home advantage

There have been plenty of tournaments where the home team did not reach the final.

And fair enough on the World Cup, our route was easier than France's.
