This is a situation that has happened here today, the lady in question is not a Royal per se so shouldn't be classed as such, BUT it has overshadowed the work Kate and William are doing which is a shame. I just found it interesting the spped in which Kensington Palace commented. Just an observation

H&M said it wasn't Prince Philip (or the Queen) that they were referring to.
There has been quite a bit of news coverage along the lines of:
'Royals don't accept awards, they give them'
'the timing within days of William and Kates visit is suspect'
'guests will pay millions to sit at H&M's table'.
'they have connections to the award givers' (nepotism)
What do you think about them accepting such an award? You didn't say.
