Kate you have to just talk to your partner/bf and tell him how you feel , we all go through this. And now with it being Christmas... i think more people are anxious rather than happy due to endless issues from financial to other stuff.

Life can be difficult unfortunately x .

Second that, relationships need work, and have there highs and lows, he probably doesn’t even realise, probably just tired, and he might be worried about his job or money

Coming from a guys perspective on the matter of affection. How long have you been together now ? Just wondering if that's why you don't get as much as you used to. At the start of mine and my wife's relationship I gave her lots of affection because I wanted her to stay with me I wanted us to get married. I wanted to show her I loved her. After over ten years of marriage I do let that slip a lot now, and it's funny because it's not because I don't love her it's actually because I still really love her and I feel so comfortable with us as a couple now that I have felt I don't need to show as much affection, I love the fact that we literally can spend evenings in front of the telly hardly say a word play on our phones and know what each other is thinking with a look. I love how comfortable we are with each other. Only it turns out that wasn't what my wife was thinking. She thought the same as you that I didn't love her as much and our relationship needs work. So I have tried to be more affection lately and remember women love cuddles etc. I hate so much a cuddle while trying to sleep I really need my own space when sleeping but as my wife does love a cuddle I make sure every night when we get into bed we cuddle for at least 15 minutes have a bit of a joke around about things the kids have done etc and that's nice and then we go to sleep. So sometimes it's just about seeing things from the other perspective. I didn't see my mum and dad show a lot of affection for each other in terms of physical hugs with each other etc I could just tell they loved each other and were comfortable with each other. He may be similar to me. He might just feel really comfortable with you now and still love you just as much but he doesn't feel the need to show you in terms of physical touch etc. Just communicate to him that one of your love languages is cuddles and I'm sure he will understand.

I can’t really add anything to the posts above other than that I’ve battled “against the demons” for as long as I can remember … the only thing that works for me is making sure there’s always lots of happy / uptempo music on in the background - whenever possible .

It helps that I can’t abide silence so we have a radio / hifi in every room in the house - even one in the towel cupboard in the bathroom

I noticed ages ago when I was in a ‘lull’ that I was immediately uplifted when a happy / uptempo song came on ..


Just a thought ..

my advice for you now, do what i am currently doing every evening before going to bed, watch some lighthearted comedy on disney plus, i still am loving rewatching suite life and wizards of waverly place so much
