What a great first set by both players. Smith takes it on throw 3-2. They were both on a 9 darter in that set after 6 darts. They surely can't keep this standard up.

Electric atmosphere in the crowd. The quality of darts produced that.

Another 3-2 set, this time in favour of Clemens. Smith played some amazing darts in that set and led 2-0 but Clemens came back to win it. This is some game so far.

Smith must be thinking now, "why won't this guy go away?"

Another 5 leg set and Smith takes it.

This is some game. They both have turned up to play. Can they keep it up over this long distance?

What a first half.

Smith has thrown everything at Clemens and he's not wilting. I think Smith is getting frustrated now and he could be the one that ends up wilting.

This guy Clemens is so solid.

What a great response by Michael Smith in that set after losing the last one. He takes it 3-0 in no time.

I've seen some great games of darts over the years and this one is right up there with the best.

There's no better player that's easier on the eye to watch than Michael Smith when he's firing.

5-2 now for Smith. It's just about getting over the finishing line now for him.

He deserves to, because as well as Clemens has done, Smith has been amazing

Absolute quality by Bully boy. Fair play to Clemens aswell. He may have been beat 6 sets to 2 but he played his part in a great game.Smith was just superb tonight.

Van Gerwen is a huge favourite in the next semi final for me. Van den Bergh does have the game in him capable of winning. Whether he can produce it or not, we're about to find out.

Fair play to Smith, not sure there's anyone better when he's firing like that and he's got a lot more bottle now which was always a big problem for him

Dimi was taking the mick a bit with the pace of play at times but MVG is a bit of a dick standing so close and almost throwing while Dimi is just taking his darts out the board

So how does Michael Smith beat him?

A final is a totally different occasion. It's about who ever plays the best on the day.

Smith is gonna have to at least play on the level he did tonight, which is gonna be a tough ask

Both players will enjoy the pace of each others game. Smith will never play at a different pace, he only has one pace. Van Gerwen could come unstook if he tries to change the pace of the game.

I have to make van Gerwen the favourite. Along with Eric Bristow and Phil Taylor, he's in the top 3 players that have ever lived.

I will be shouting for Bully boy.

Hes better than 95, so shouldn't find it too hard to play better.

MVG never losing but Dimi's head did go after that little altercation early on. Never seen a player at this level miss two darts in a row at a single number to leave a finish

I'd like to see Bully Boy win it but my money would be on Michael

No doubt we've got the best 2 players in the World at this moment in time in the final.

Smith needs to start well for me, there's no way he's coming from behind to win. He needs to win 3 of the first 5 sets. If van Gerwen gets to 3 first I think he'll run away with it.
