It was ever thus. Government has a crackdown on drugs, and they would find mountains of cocaine if they raided fleet street and parliament, but they go for the little guys.

Because to these business minded people, they disgustingly think theft is more serious than the crimes that we're thinking of, they'll never say it in public because it's socially not acceptable to think like that, but it's the way they really think.

Obviously I don't endorse theft, especially if it escalates to Armed Robbery, but this case is more petty than petty theft imo.

my company's ip regularly gets stolen and the police do zero about it, and they never have. We have had the same efforts before on people with cassette recorders and VHS tapes, and again, nothing ever happened
