If I were being uncharitable, I'd posit that Big Media TM hires people who make progressives look as ridiculous and unpalatable as possible, such as her and Owen Jones. Neither are particularly skilled at getting their points across in an effective way for live "debates".

Or, possibly more likely, they make good TV - they're not boring, while a progressive who can make their points well might.come off as.dry and didactic. Or, looping back to my original point, they might come off as too likeable!

But either way, it's all a circus. Certain performers might think they're educational, but they're just the dancing hippos.
