But the truth is that certain parts of England are more overtly racist than others and likely to have racially-motivated attacks going on (not that it’s nearly as big a thing these days as it would’ve back then). Doesn’t mean everyone from Hull, Cumbria, Bootle or Plymouth is racist but compared to Croydon or Toxteth the ones who are are far more likely to get away with being open about it.
