I vary the toppings .. having sweet tooth I go for the traditional sugar and lemon then maybe maple syrup and lemon AND sugar !
For a change-up Sugar plus a little Southern Comfort or Cointreau is heavenly !

I'm the only one in my house who doesn't like them. Gav and the kids had them with golden syrup, butter, chocolate chips, sugar and berries (not all in one go )

we didn't have any as I was too lazy to make them, and my friend summed it up well when she said she found it really boring standing over the frying pan making one at a time so she makes her kids one each then they have to make any further ones themselves
