i think he knows his career is better served at Brighton. It's always flattering when a big team shows interest, but he had a long contract and the teams weren't willing to pay the fee needed. The only team willing to go to any lengths to get someone are chelsea and they are probably going to be more selective in the future

I'm surprised he signed an extension. 85 million was always too much for him, so I thought it was a bad move to not sell him. His previous contract ran out in 2025 . So this time next year he'd have had 18 months left on his contract. They were never gonna 85 million in that scenario.

Good luck to him, but I'm not sure staying at Brighton is the right move. Most that have left have gone on to greater things. Except Maupay, of course
