Don’t know as a child but I once cracked open a Brazil from its shell put in my mouth and began to chew it

It had gone bad for some reason I can easily say the taste was rancid and even after washing my mouth out several times I could still taste it.

I honestly had no idea until I saw a photo of an actual tongue on the side of a tin many years later !
