Or do you think this “war” on transgender people (for all the nonsense that often entails) and the fact that people these days seem to be post-gender has usurped the need for feminism per-se?

Basic feminism will always need to be a thing in society imo, because there'll always be someone out there that'll try to destroy women's basic rights that they're entitled to just because they hate women being capable away from the Bedroom and the Kitchen.
I would say though that some of today's modern Feminism can be completely insane in certain areas, so they lose me a little bit because I'm obviously not going to man hate.

While I'm personally not in favour of abortion, the fact that roadblocks are "still" being thrown up in front of it suggests that feminism has ground to build upon. And yes, women's rights being compromised for transwomen does also suggest that feminism has work to do.
Gender is a social construct, so treating the world as being "Post Gender" does women no favours, especially if the importance of (biological) sex is overlooked.p Btw I've never specifically called myself a feminist, so if my being "not for" abortion might seem at odds with the rest of what I've said, then suck it ![]()

I’m asking. What on Earth made you do that?

The modern version of feminism of ‘believe and support all women, at all times, without question, without wavering thoughts, at all costs or you’re a raving misogynist’ is equally as dangerous as the complete opposite.
Actual feminism, wanting complete and fair equality, equal treatment under law and equal societal power, will always have a place.

I was just young and free thinking I guess .. It does seem odd to celebrate when you make an appearance to the world when you’ve been living , breathing , listening and experiencing sooooo much whilst inside the womb .. .. you don’t suddenly EXIST when you pop out .. More relevant and more important than it has been in decades.

In cities like Liverpool and most of London (and to an extent, I guess, Manny/Manchester and Leeds) people are well put-together, respected and just get on with it but there are places in the extreme north of the U.K. that are probably a little more casually sexist either way than you’d expect them to be in 2023 and places in the most gentrified parts of East London (Hackney’s a place what’s really changed in that regard over the last 10 years) that are too far (at least that’s how it looks to me) in the opposite direction and take the trans. ting way, way too far.
