I'm no fan of Queen Camilla.
However it is the late Queen who directed that she should be Queen consort.
King Charles 111 was always going to be King, that is his long centuries old birthright.
He wants his wife now at his side as his Queen.

It doesn't matter what I think on this issue, he IS the King and he has the decision to make his wife Queen and not just Queen consort.
There's no power element there, they are figureheads of the Nation that's all.

It was sad and even cruel what he and Camilla did to Princess Diana.
It was a sad and bad marriage overall likely.
However Camilla clearly makes him happy.
The late Queen fully accepted her.

I could well understand if both or even just one of Princess Diana's sons were more hostile to Queen Camilla.
They have however been married for 18 years and he is now in his 70s so to have the woman he sees as his rock as his Queen, in my view that's near perfect.
He has the one person who can and will support him through his duties as King.
I couldn't begrudge him that at all.

Well said Joey...

There was no need for her to be Queen.
We have King Charles and that's what Saturday was all about for me.

You can keep repeating the fictional ‘Crown’ series version of events but it just doesn’t stack up. There is no evidence at all, not one shred, (even Diana never said so) that he resumed an affair with Camilla as soon as he married Diana. There are many that insist he didn’t start the affair until 5 years afterwards, in 1986, ‘when the marriage had irretrievably broken down’.
There is however some credence that Diana was the first to have affairs, which was suppressed by the media of the time to suit their narrative of the beautiful, perfect Princess. Obviously the marriage wasn’t working, for both of them and I guess Diana knew only too well that his heart still belonged with Camilla.

It was reported that her first affair was in 1983 with a man called Henry Herbert, the 17th Earl of Pembroke.
Julia Samuels, her friend, admitted Diana was having an affair with her protection officer, Barry Mannakee in 1985….and it is said there were others.
Then came James Hewitt, Will Carling and Oliver Hoare, all of which were carried out after Charles started his affair with Camilla.
I was a huge Diana fan and had so much sympathy for her, still do, but from all I have read, from friends of both couples, I’m inclined to believe the above.

Ultimately it was Charles who ‘struck’ first so anything after that is irrelevant as he ‘changed’ the rules .

For me she should have been Consort.
I would have supported that.
But not Queen. She'll never be my Queen.

The late Queen was the one who opened the door for the Queen consort title.
I cannot imagine at all IF we could ask the late Queen now did she disagree with King Charle's decision here now.
I can't imagine she'd disagree.

She'd want him to have at his side however way he was happy with, the person he really loved and has come to rely on.
It's his decision and his right, no one elses.

It is what is is with Camilla. I don't actually blame her for the breakdown of the various marriages, I blame the Royals as a whole. Charles should have been allowed to marry her in the first place then Doana would have never been dragged along for the ride. That didn't happen and as in many marriages Charles and Di were not a match made in heaven and they strayed. Not ideal but not uncommon. You can tell by looking at them now they were / are soul mates and make each other very happy.

Tradition dictates Camilla shpuld be Queen and so she is. I don't think anyone should have the obscene wealth the royals have given how a lot of it was acquired but it is what it is

Where do you get your info from?

He didn't 'strike first' though...nowadays it is accepted by many that he was faithful for 5 years hoping the marriage would work - it wasn't working and Diana was the first to have affairs. Not that it matters anymore, time moves on....

100% and he should have paid for his own Coronation

although apparently the chairs at the Abbey will be auctioned off to help with the bill

Heres the thing, it was good old Henry the 8th that set the precedent. He divorced Catherine and married Anne, and she became queen. If he had not created a new religion specifically so he could do that then things would have been different.

However, Diana died, and Charles didn't marry Camilla until after her death so she becomes queen without the need for any religious jiggery pokery

If you want to believe he was celibate for 5 years with his old ( married) girlfriend constantly hanging around then so be it …

He couldn’t keep away from her when he was single and she was married with children..

He wasn't celibate for the 5 years...he had 2 children with Diana.
It's not a case of 'wanting to believe' anything, I've always preferred Diana to Camilla by far - it's what the friends of both of them have admitted to over the years.
