BB outgrew the house compound in Elstree around BB7 really - the show arguably suffered from not having a big enough plot. Also remember although it was purpose built the Elstree house was essentially built as an empty sound stage rather than a house, hence how they were able to reconfigure it so frequently.
I think the new main living area is amazing although I'm not a fan of the huge corridor between the main living area and bedroom/bathroom and even longer corridor to the diary room. The bedroom and bathroom are also far too big. Minor complaints really.
The garden could be bigger but it's fine for a winter series. Personally I'd ditch the outdoor stage and take advantage of the studio being so close and do evictions from in there - baffling how they haven't made more of an entrance there just by turning the Late and Live set slightly so the tunnel lines up with the fire door they're using as the exit. The outdoor set could easily be replicated indoors and improved though.
As for the location - yes a concern it's quite easily accessed by the public (perhaps a reason why they've built the eviction stage between the garden and canal) but it also benefits from being in an industrial area so they don't have the problem of local residents wanting them to be quiet after 8pm.
