While Sir Alex Ferguson was a fine goalscorer is his days as a player, it’s probably fair to say his legs had gone by the time he was appointed Manchester United manager. But that didn’t stop him donning his boots and shinpads for one last time in what must be one of the most bizarre tales of his 27 years in charge of the club.
Fergie’s last hurrah as a player, if you can call it that, came during a strange mid-season trip to Bermuda for two friendlies in his first full season in charge of the club. Travelling to the Caribbean in November 1987, United faced fixtures against Bermuda and Somerset Trojans, the latter of which was played on a cricket ground. Ferguson was understandably not too keen on the trip in the first place and had previous experience of touring the Caribbean when in charge of St Mirren. That tour featured Ferguson bringing himself on as a player to exact revenge on Guayana’s centre-back for his “cruelty” in “taking liberties” against St Mirren’s young striker Robert Torrence. Fergie was sent off for a challenge that left the defender rolling on the floor “like a dying man”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Tonali could face a 7 month ban as per the one handed out to a separate player today That leaves a place for Phillips in the Jan transfer window ⚫️ Newcastle official statement on Sandro Tonali and betting case. “Newcastle United can confirm that Sandro Tonali is subject to investigation by the Italian Prosecutor's Office and Italian Football Federation (FIGC) in relation to illegal betting activity. Sandro is fully engaging with the investigation and will continue to cooperate with all relevant authorities. He and his family will continue to receive the club's full support. Due to this ongoing process, Sandro and Newcastle United are unable to offer further comment at this time”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Fortuna Düsseldorf are planning on playing all their future games on front of a packed stadium each time !! How ? Easy .. they are going to be offering FREE tickets for everyone including away fans !! It’s a revolutionary concept The 'Fortuna For All' project was unveiled at the end of 2022/23, outlining the club's ambitious plans to offer free admission to all spectators at the Merkur Spielarena, from hardcore season ticket holders and fan club members to occasional visitors and even away fans. "We want to make it clear what Fortuna Düsseldorf stands for," said club CEO Alexander Jobst. "With 'Fortuna For All', we're doing things differently and breaking new ground." The club is running a pilot scheme during the 2023/24 campaign before the project is fully implemented in the coming years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Joelinton avoids getting booked again !!
Newcastle have 5 players with bookings and Joelinton was worse than any of them It reminds me of ManC Fernandinho who constantly fouled including loads of professional fouls but rarely got booked Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
