I get this and have the same mindset. For similar reasons to you, I do believe that some things are just meant to be, even if those things can be hard to bear. It helps in making some sense of difficult experiences that are outside our control, and that in turn, helps us to move forward and be more prepared for the future. It’s not a luxurious belief but a coping mechanism. :
