You make a good point here, about his age and his accident making it difficult for him to manoeuvre into certain positions. I also think the diving task which he just couldn’t do, has knocked his confidence significantly He hasn’t seemed the same since then.

To her credit, Nella has done a lot of trials, and has generally done pretty well in them. She did mention she had a fear of being in enclosed spaces and of being underground, which might have influenced her decision to quit. However, I think she might have pushed herself more if Josie hadn’t quit the previous day, and had she been solely responsible for getting the stars.

Having said all that, she does display some strange behaviours in her relationships with others, and on a number of occasions her reactions have been vengeful, intolerant and immature. Maybe there are cultural reasons for this? I don’t fully understand her, but she can come across as petty and unlikeable at times.
