I've just read the link in the OP, Swan.

I'm honestly speechless.

I do wonder why using the UK as an example, why the UK courts will find someone guilty of Paedophilia, just for them to only get a 2 year sentence (I think the case that I'm thinking of was based on good behaviour) but still I see that kind of sentencing as monstrous, or the fact that Katie Piper's attacker was seen walking around in society (tagged admittedly) but again that guy shouldn't be seeing the light of day for a very long time.

Obviously I have sympathy for the justice system though when a bad person walks free or an innocent person gets wrongly convicted, because unfortunately evidence can sometimes lead you down the wrong path.
Honestly, the UK system is ridiculous, and sometimes I despair of it. I read my local newspaper and am appalled at the number of people who are charged with serious assaults, yet walk away with a suspended sentence. A woman was in court for stabbing someone twice in the head and once in the leg, yet she didn’t serve time! Like why!? I know that no justice system is perfect but this just wouldn’t happen in somewhere like the USA, and it shouldn’t happen here.

She got no prison sentence?

This country really is ****ed, seriously.

And I agree with you about America, and China they'll lock you up over any crime.

Yes, no prison time. The amount of people who walk out of our local court, with a suspended sentence is a running joke in the comment section of our newspaper. In reality though, it’s anything but funny, as you know these people are roaming around without any real deterrent to reoffending. It makes you ask exactly how far people can go before they receive an appropriate consequence, and it makes you feel a little less safe in your own environment.

Having said that, I wouldn’t want China’s ‘justice’ system, as that would is just scary.

Yeah, and replying to your other post. These cases, this is where death is the only right punishment imo.

I agree with you 100%

And yeah China might be the other extreme.

I reckon a couple of inmates will deal with them two when the guards "aren't looking" so it stops the justice system having to step in.

They wouldn’t though .. they’d end up in their own cell , tv , Xbox / PlayStation etc

I watched an American jail series last week and they all had their own individual iPad/tablet .. used in their cell or carried around
Quite bizarre tbh
