I have known a guy who works in Iceland food store for years. When I say know, I mean I was aware of him stacking shelves and basically walking about the store. He's been there for at least 4 years. He's never said a word to me, or to anyone else. Always kept himself to himself.
However, something happened last week. He was on the till (which he's been on the till before and never said a word). But last week he said 'all right mate'. I looked around to see who he was talking to and it was ME. He kept on talking about the weather, food prices. You couldn't shut him up. I couldn't wait to get away.
Then yesterday I saw him talking to a customer. His mouth was going non stop. Then today he was stacking shelves and he said 'all right, mate' to me again. Talking non stop about the weather, his holidays. I thought WTF.
What the heck happened? Any mind doctors in? Explain.
Cheers.

Maybe he’s just come out of his shell. Maybe he’s becoming hypomanic and entering a phase (which could be down to quite a few things other than bipolar, including steroids). Maybe his boss threatened him with the sack if he failed to be more friendly and continued seeming aloof. Maybe he’s more talkative than you’ve encountered him being until recently.
