My grandmother was Jewish, which apparently makes me Jewish if I want to be! I choose not to be, and my husband, who was born into a Jewish family also chooses not to follow the Jewish faith. My farther-in-law lost (apart from his grandmother) all his relatives in the Nazi occupation and he refuses to side with Zionism in this awful conflict.
That said, I have a very good understanding of Judaism and so if I wish to pick sides between those who follow the three oaths of the Talmud and the Medrash and those that don't, then that's what I will do.
