Even ("alleged") scum like him deserves a fair trial tbh, or the system doesn't work. We can't overlook an unfair trial just because it gave us the result we wanted.

…I was just thinking, actually…and not in relation to Harvey Weinstein but your words here have just broken into my thoughts……because of the age of the internet and social media etc…an uninfluenced trial is going to become less and less, I would say…I know that the police say…’please do not post on social media’ …etc…but that’s kind of after that horse is bolted, isn’t it…and also, it’s not something that can be policed very effectively…

Makes me think of Chicago, where the lawyer Billy Flynn made Roxy into media star, and the papers were running the story that they "both reached for the gun" which inevitably influenced the jury.
