it's not really different to Trump mis speaking or dropping some racist comment or lying. Neither of them are fit to be candidates for president, but they are

i don't see there being another debate. There is no gain in it for Biden and everything to lose, but then, he shouldn't have done the last debate and he went ahead with it anyway, so who knows
![]() If the polls dive and the money runs out and they look for an alternative to biden, then maybe a debate is then important, but there is no point in having an event where biden can't speak and trump spews lies unchallenged Last edited by bots; 30-06-2024 at 02:30 PM. |

He is at the stage that Biden was at four years ago, hence the odd and random pissing contest over Golf between the two of them, they're basically people that should be in old people's homes.

I don't know if this thought was ever put forward in the media because I don't follow much atm, but one reason for him not to step down is that it does deincentivize Trump or anyone really going after his family politically or criminally. If he dies in office, even more so.

i'm sure there are many discussions going on behind the scenes as to whether it's feasible/best for Biden to drop out. If he does drop out, the pressure will then mount for him to give up the current presidency which would make Kamala the boss

To add to that, Trump quite blatantly has also slowed down with age too. It's just that he was sharper/quicker than Biden to start out with (and thus it's less obvious) and he's also 4 years younger, which is a lot when you're talking about people of that age.

there have been some more polls that have come out that don't paint a very good picture for Biden. The problem the dems have is that if they keep him, they are potentially putting the feelings of an old man ahead of democracy itself. If Biden refuses to stand down he is being just as narcissistic as Trump. Biden should at least give the dems the option of replacing him if that's what they choose to do.
There are so many complex interactions at play, that i don't have a clue what the best path is. Harris is a lot more unpopular than Biden at the present time, but that may change if she becomes the focal point for saving democracy. I tend to believe that would certainly be the case. I think putting anyone else up will ultimately be doomed to failure |

There have been some polls that have come out that show he’s making gains and that independents are swinging towards him, the democrats have raised nearly $40million since the debate, half of that coming from new, first time contributors, the panic is completely media driven, the stats show something isn’t matching what the talking heads want people to believe

The republicans should be worried about the damage Trump’s comment about ‘black jobs’ has caused

There are so many agendas at play, arguments can be spun in any direction for or against removing Biden. From where i'm standing, the vote is either for or against democracy, so it really doesn't matter who the focal point of that is, its the principle that is at stake |
