Really happy.

Not a lot to celebrate though.

The vote share is around the 2005 level, a bit more, when Labour won a 68 overall majority for 35.2% of the vote only, with the Cons on 32.3%

The bad thing for me is the situation with Reform.
The Cons maybe could have had this tighter had they seen off Reform.

I'm pleased the Cons will be the opposition, I hope they elect a more moderate leader going forward.
However I think both Labour and the Cons need to find a way to remove Reform as much out the equation as they can.
I've been at a count tonight, er well also this morning, I felt sorry for the Con who lost.
Of all the candidates the only ignorant one was the Reform candidate.

This electoral system is useless.
Who ends up with the most seats, wins the election.
The votes are near irrelevant.
What a ridiculous voting system.
The seats are won where the concentration of activity is most generated in.

We need PR, I feel it would help get people who don't vote to start to.
Those non voters in my view, are not extreme or bigoted, prejudiced people, if they were they'd be out now voting for the likes of Reform.

Obviously I'm glad we now have a Labour government.
I hope however that Labour will build good and more consensus with the LibDems and Greens.
I will as a Labour party member fight within the Party with other members and MPs to get PR discussed and hopefully brought in for elections.
This electoral system fails the UK far more than it serves the UK now.
