They’d obviously rather you didn’t go through with it but if your mind’s set and you’ve decided that you want your last conversation to be with a Samaritan, there’s nothing they can do if you don’t want them to help you. And you’re well-within your rights to torture a volunteer by making them listen to you jump, hang or swallow.

I think it would be imo valuable for The Samaritans to make it that the caller has to at least give their name, so that they have a better chance of tracking the caller, if the caller is trying to kill themselves.
