England are a typical example of a team of stars that just don't gel together as a team. They would get more success with 2 or 3 stars and the rest of the team made up of players that can put in a shift doing the pressing and keeping possession.

Southgate said that the team didn't maintain possession, but how could they when pickford booted the ball half way up the pitch on every goal kick. Possession starts and ends from playing out from the back. Everyone knows this

True but I think they need to commit to a more attacking style of football and stick to it no matter what.

The best teams don't change their philosophy when they go a goal up or down. They continue playing the same attacking way

I think it might have been a bit different had Southgate included Jack Grealish, it's said the players were unhappy about him not being included and so were several fans and pundits.

Spain played the most attacking and adventurous football and won the competition. I need say no more. Lets put an end to this - We have inferior players - garbage that is not true and start to play more attacking football

Even the most ardent Southgate fans and fans of 'English' football have to be asking how after 100 games and 8 years of Southgate are Spain and Germany better. Particularly when we can all remember times, during the time that Southgate has been manager, where Spain and Germany have been quite poor. How have they managed to catch up to England and apparently pass them.

Interesting to see how Southgate remained loyal to certain players to the detriment of the team !!

It was clear that Kane hasn’t been fully fit yet Southgate played him every game !!


Then we have Belligerent in s similar position - looked sluggish throughout yet Southgate played him every game


Foden had one decent game … against Holland who were abysmal and basically allowed Foden to play .. all the other teams sussed out that you can stop Foden and they all managed it .. Southgate played him every game .

The crazy thing is that neither Bellingham nor Foden are true number 10’s .. whilst Maddison and Palmer ARE both number 10’s .



In contrast the German manager had the courage to drop the German player of the season Florian Wirtz because it wasn’t working to crowbar him in the team alongside Musiala .

He refused to do any of the press conferences which puts extra pressure on all the others, many who aren’t comfortable in that situation


Indeed it’s been noticed many times that he’s only really seen hanging out with TAA ..

Teams can still keep a hold of the ball better than England were against Spain, even with a keeper booting the ball up the pitch.

Imo our midfield lost us that final, they were barely marking any of the Spanish players when not in possession, and struggled to control the ball or pass the ball when in possession, especially Rice and Mainoo imo.

I think he doesn't like Grealish.

I remember in the last Euros that he barely played him, and that was with a lot of fans kicking and screaming for him to play.
