I had a YouTube playlist of ambience videos playing on my television when all of a sudden the playlist came to an end and it inexplicably moved onto a three hour compilation of old He-Man episodes.

I couldn't help but not mind at all.

The joy and validative peace close friends, family, continual day-one allies and people who are otherwise-chanced with the opportunity to get to know you on a level can give you that strangers (be-they strangers in H.R., people you just happen to casually drink with, toxic old links) just can’t. It’s a rewarding thing to be known on a level. Even if it’s just one person. Especially if they’re one of your day-ones.

Having it confirmed that my godfather is 82 rather than 86. Four years makes all-t. difference at that age. I’m just smiling because that means he’s got a few more years with us, a few more years to reflect on one-in-a-trillion heritage and his collaboration with Dorothy Kuya. He’s a legend.

Also. T’smell of pine essential oil (I got myself a bottle from Holland and Barrett yesterday) in the air is another smiling point. Merge it with frankincense and tea-tree and … yeah. Just heavenly.

Heck, just knowing someone as decent as Kerry (who happened to start this thread) is enough reason to smile. She was such a source of joy and optimism on this forum. The world’s definitely worse-off without her.

It would be nice to officially honour her for one day of the year, actually. She deserves it.
