Exactly - if even the police are showing significant restraint currently, the likelihood of them calling in the military is zero. My suspicion is that the Tommy Robinson style weekend-activism vanguard would disperse pretty quickly and not return if they got a faceful of CS gas.

People don't seem to understand modern day reality.. The police don't need to get involved in confrontation. They can pick off ring leaders and then follow up arresting everyone else that was there using AI. The days of thugs lurking in a crowd and hiding are long gone, and wearing a mask isn't going to help either.

Look at jan 6th in america, thousands of protestors were involved and are now facing prosecution. They don't need to be arrested at the scene any more

It's not just the tech, one thing that has been done right is the rise of local and community policing - integration in communities and talking to people.

They don't need AI to identify people, local police looking at these videos will be able to identify and name the vast majority of the worst offenders. They'll know them by name, who they generally kick about with, and where their granny likes to get a nice cuppa and a wee cake.

By the police just standing back and allowing the crowds anger to build through mob mentality then I would suggest that is entrapment..they are their to maintain law and order, not sit back allowing it to happen.. 4 horses stood back all day in rotherham yesterday at that hotel.
