That's just sickening, both saying that and the punishment.

Good to see, these armchair supporters of violence only help stir up actual violence.
I'm pleased to see substantial punishments being handed out

More of them too I hope as to social media racial and other hate posting.

I'm a bit torn - I don't think such calls for violence should go unpunished ... but over a year in custody for a woman with no real platform making a vaguely general but targeted (if that makes sense ) call for action? Hmm. It's not like someone who otherwise wouldn't do such a thing would see her post and immediately blow the mosque up.

I'll reiterate that calls for violence like that are beyond the scope of acceptable free speech.

I think if they don't make harsh examples now, the "next time" will be worse. People were very emboldened a few weeks ago, not only with the idea that suddenly "it was ok to say this stuff out loud!!" but also in actually going out and participating in full on civil unrest. It shouldn't be taken lightly or downplayed.

As often is the case we got to see it play out on TiBB in miniature. Our own little petri dish.

Yeah, I guess. I doubt such consequences will be a permanent legal fixture. As you say, it might be that it was the "right" reaction for the times we're in.

I've not been following. I hope that the people who think there's two tier justice won't be proved right.

Nah, she just blew herself up. But in all seriousness, I agree. That seems excessive. Less time would drive the same point and maybe even fine/restitution so that it'll still hurt once they are back out. Not that it matters here, some places just let rioters roam free. Locally, aggravated assaults with a deadly weapon can actually get freebonded. It's great.

Well let's not count our chickens yet

However I agree, supporting the Police fully, plus ensuring the front line of them had back up, even to the back up of the front line.
Also this defining of these rioters as serious crimes committed.

Therefore the courts issuing more severe sentencing on those taking part in the riots.
Yes, I will applaud Starmer on this and think he's done with his team, rather good in dealing with the chaos.

Those saying he was wrong to go on holiday too, when he even was not, even saying he should come back by believing the tripe they were reading.
Haven't had yet the decency to applaud that he wasn't ever on holiday at the time, nor has he even gone on one so far either.
