I think it was released in ‘99 in US, but not here until 2003. I forget music back then without social media tended to take a while to reach countries. Weird to think that now as everything is so instant.

It is odd and I think that still occurs, at least in the US. There's songs that were easily top 40 for here that apparently didn't air in other areas of the US? Husband & I are a month apart in birthdates and so when I ask him what he remembers, there's a difference there since we grew up in very different regions of the US. We're in a tropical climate, so the music is certainly very different than say, the Northeast. So we do get more European bangers because we do get more dance/energetic genres. There's more international music playing here in the streets. (My neighbor across runs a Tejano station from his garage). We get more R&B/hip hop and there's more diversity due to our diverse cultural makeup. Club music is big in places like Miami (to a lesser extent, here as well). Oh and the Latin influence. I do love the style in Scoop's music. Hip hop/R&B was the first genre I really "got into" and where I began to really appreciate music... other than that, some 80's rock/pop tracks here and there.
