Those waiting for the debate, i don't think it will change anything. Debates very rarely affect the outcome and Biden fell foul because he basically couldn't perform the normal functions of a typical human being

I mean Trump won in 2016 and I'd be absolutely flabbergasted if someone could produce a debate where he outperformed Hillary . He was like a 12 year old trolling a Fortnite voice chat during that campaign.

Ironically Trump agrees to the early debate could end up being the worst political decision he’s ever made (and there’s a lot of them)

The crazed woman cannot speak off script and that is what they are most afraid of

hence hiding her for over a month now with one softball far left CNN car crash "interview" with the stolen Valour cheat.

She can technically answer a question in a straightforward manner and yet still somehow come off so slippery as to not be confident in her answers. It's a unique skill and one she has mastered, clearly. It's named "Fly Under the Radar" on her character sheet and she's put so many of her points into it, that it does boost her Charisma. So I think the deification of her personality could very well work. Potentially less arrogantly than Hillary Clinton if she doesn't fluff that up somehow... It could be her best asset. Some people really fall for word salad, because people do like to hear what they want to hear. But I agree, this interview, she presents much better. Her words.. not so much. I live in a border state in a port city with huge numbers of illegal immigration (in terms of people being uncounted in the Census) and none of the stuff she says here reaches home for me. It doesn't make any sense.

I think Kamala is a breath of fresh air. She is a politician sure, but I would take her over anything the maga world have to offer. Obviously, i'm not an american, so what affects me, is having a global partner that is reliable in defence against authoritarian dictators, which maga and trump most certainly are not

So, it does seem the media is starting to show concern about where the wind is blowing. There's been more polls and insider information that is not working in her favor. It's interesting that there's more clips going around that are more critical towards her coming straight from mainstream. Reminds me of 2016 when all the information was coming out about Hillary and suddenly there was this wall of concern and criticism. Same with Biden post-debate.

Normally campaign ads are kinda "blah", but the ones that I've seen against her could be very effective as they're delivering information that may not have already been known about her by the voter, such as past things she said (and the intensity at which she says them...). Simply because Trump is so well known, it's harder for him to put a "foot wrong". This is the one downside of over-saturating viewers with negative coverage for any candidate. It's true for American "dynasty" candidates, is that the more we know about them, the more comfortable we are allowed to become with them especially if the options they're running against are not nearly as well known or predictable. Trump has only run as himself, but with his name being so well known and all the scuffles already having been had in the public, he's becoming a de facto dynasty candidate in some ways without ever having another family member enter into a political race (though I think it's inevitable..). Whether that helps or hurts him, we won't know until we get the vote, but that's certainly what comes to mind as a casual viewer of politics. Anyway, polls being what they are, they're not a constant.

The Goldstar situation is significant. At least it is for those who are from a military family who has lost friends or family. If a candidate was invited and didn't show, that is definitely going to be noted, probably in any speeches made there. I'm familiar with this personally and it is not unusual for these gatherings to occur, for major emotions to come out and for individuals to speak on how certain politics or policies has impacted them personally. Especially any lack of government support... on the other hand, if they felt or received support, they would note that also and any gratefulness...

Trying to portray these gatherings as being politics free is comedy hour. If a family member dies, of course, war is going to be mentioned and the impacts of any terrible decisions made from higher ups in terms of their death. That's often why surviving service members meet in the first place is to vent their emotions about such sensitive topics that otherwise would be too inappropriate to discuss out in the public. For a number of reasons, 1) the public, on average, does not understand what they actually went through.. and can't be expected to have a reasonable take on such things... 2) Criticizing the govt or military openly is easily misconstrued and comments like that can be used to "help" the enemy... most still support our military and govt despite even obvious flaws 3) Often there are other mental health issues involved and that can put them in worse off situation... so actually, inviting Candidates who have the chance to take in the input and maybe even act on it behind the scenes is really relieving. It's also more productive than trying to "go to the media" and vent those concerns... some might already feel their pain has been used for political purposes, so what better than to bring all that to the gathering themselves and force them to face uncomfortable questions and criticisms... it doesn't usually bear fruit, so the fact that Trump even showed is significant to them.

What I have seen is there's much more discussion over policy now. Most people (even foreigners) can have those discussions and it not turn into a blood bath. I can't have the same debate about healthcare that we have in the States with someone in the UK, but I think we can all agree having health is important and have some kind of discussion.

All that said, the algorithms are more effective than we give them credit for. It is something to see the intensity at which people get very involved in American political chatter (to more of an extent than most do here), but I think there are many cases where it is relevant.

Just the same, it is amusing to see the amount of Americans starting up Youtubes and social media accounts specifically focused on defending the Royals. When there's even less impact there (to a foreigner's situation). It is comedy to see some those same accounts go from discussing American politics viscerally to suddenly arguing about dresses.

FWIW, I do watch some channels on the Royals, but I understand it's from a distance and largely for my entertainment and not for personal enrichment.

the election will remain close up to election day. It's in the medias interests for that to be the case. Over here, when it was obvious labour were going to win, people just didn't bother to watch any of it, there was absolutely no point

The American media is owned primarily by m/billionaire Trump donors, they make money off of the insanity that is Trump, of course they are now making a push for Trump by attacking Harris, they don’t want to risk losing even more of their cash cow

Fake News

All the women are lining up to vote for that gorgeous hunk of a man instead of that brazen hussy

All the Christians are voting Trump as that brazen hussy supports the murder of unborn children and Trump managed to get that obscenity Roe V Wade consigned to the dustbin of history.

But then the UNDemocratic party will just come along and cheat in order to steal the election like they did in 2020

You are wrong,
some women are voting Trump.
But more are now voting for Harris.

She will Face Trump on Tuesday
(Wednesday 2AM Live CNN HD for us).

Harris has much more Cash to spend
But her Live CNN debate can make
her or break her

This debate is also on SkyNewsHD and BBCnewsHD

Had my telephoto while out today. This was up at a small business:

Most everything else is local candidacies, but there was a fairly professional looking sign for "Democrats for Trump" attached to a cement pole along a major roadway and it had QR code and a number below to text..

I still see BETO stickers while out. I've yet to see a Kamala one... (short candidacy though)

They were saying
2024 Pennsylvania

Harrys 47.2
Trump 47.2

Pennsylvania has a voting system that
is a mess.

On the CNN HD USA Smerconish show.

Also
[Multiple outlets will televise and stream it.
But unlike in past years, when presidential debates
were organized by a bipartisan commission,
this is solely an ABC News production.
It won’t include a live audience.]
