Effeminate isn't exclusively the same thing as gay, just as masculine isn't the same as straight. It's quite clear to anyone paying attention that Dean dislikes guys who are excessively masculine, not straight guys in general. Trying to suggest that viewpoint is on par with homophobia is an absolutely wild reach

Just like if Marcello said he didn't like effeminate guys, that wouldn't be homophobic because effeminate doesn't equate to being gay, there's plenty of effeminate straight men and masculine gay men.
