Might understand more with full context in the episode, if we get it. Right now, I wonder if it's because Khaled was doing it with Lily and Sarah in the room. Bruised his ego in front of the two ladies he's closest to.

…was it because Khaled was joking about Marcello’s judgement in the task, that he had poor judgement…and then him repeating ‘triggered’ was annoying for Marcello…that seemed to be the trigger…of triggered……
