But I just think Marcello has alot of layers , and I think some of the things he says is bravado. And i think he puts up a wall in relationships based on not having a father figure around,plus he's worried he'll get hurt .

Yeah but that doesn’t excuse a lot of behaviour he has done.
Why can’t you look at Ali for example in the same vein you look at Marcello. She has also been through a lot and has a lot of walls and barriers etc
