Crimson Dynamo | The voice of reason
|
There was a distinctly Messianic quality to Donald Trump’s inaugural address.
He claimed God had saved him from an assassination attempt last year in order that he could “make America great again”. The religious nature of the event in the Capitol added to the sense that many of those present also thought he and the country had the blessing of the Almighty. He is banishing “woke” from public life, declaring there are only two genders and restoring the rights of people to untrammelled free speech. Much of this will be welcomed on the political Right in Britain and elsewhere, but will infuriate the progressives, who now face the most implacable enemy imaginable. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/...nt-maga-us-uk/ |
