In the Bear Pit the escape routes....now when Laurence was in the pit he got to the fence and went back to find the spade (nearly a kilometre away) that he needed to help him dig under the fence. He nearly made it as we know. However the next episode had the irish girl head for the same exit but she found a small tool on her way and instead of going back to find the spade she used this small metal tool and her hands and she managed to dig herself free. So I take it it is not imperative to use the tools required???

If this is the case why did Lottie keep trying to find rungs for the ladder escape when she clearly could have climbed it without the 3 extra ones she was told to get...even when she got 2 I found myself shouting at the TV telling her to climb it anyway....surely she would not have been disqualified...I mean this is a game about making the right logical decisions for survival at the end of the day....

Any feedback???

…but yeah, the Bear Pit rules with the tools were quite sketchy…I first thought that the ladder rungs must be specific sizes for each rung, so that it did matter as to which ones you had…?…but I don’t think they were so I’m not sure why Lottie went back or why she didn’t try to climb that bit without the rungs…and when Una didn’t dig with the spade and took another tool…?…although she did get the burrow deep enough anyway…that would surely have meant that maybe someone else’s escape route became impossible without their tool…?…it was specified that each route had a ‘unique’ tool that was needed but that didn't seem to be how it was in reality …it was all very sketchy….and Bear would always know where to find them as they were all heading toward tools, which he seemed to know where the tools were….
