…Knox Goes Away…this movie seems to have two titles as it’s billed as A Killer’s Memory…as well…I’d forgotten how great an actor Michael Keaton is because a Michael Keaton movie feels quite rare…I really enjoyed this a lot…about a contract killer who is diagnosed with a very, very aggressive and quick progressing dementia and who tries to help his son…8.5/10…

Also watched Presence yesterday. It's billed as a horror, but it's really more of a supernatural mystery/thriller with a very cool Hitchcockian twist near the end. The hook of the movie is seeing a supernatural haunting from the direct POV of the ghost itself. Fairly original depiction of it, too.
…yeah it felt very early on in the zombie apocalypse world, he adapted very well from his pre zombie life I felt…there are rumblings of a part 2 to be released this year so we’ll see if that happens…it was definitely one of the better zombie movies, I thought…

The Godfather Part II

'I know it was you, Fredo!'

Goes without saying that it's a masterpiece, but I'll say it again anyway: it's a masterpiece.

One of the rare case where the sequel is actually better than the original.
And the original is fantastic. Thats how good Godfather 2 is.
Both Pacino and De Niro are brilliant in it

John Cazale was such a wonderful actor. Such a shame we lost him so soon.
He was engaged to Meryl Streep.

John Cazale and Al Pacino are both brilliant on Dog Day Afternoon.

Definitely one of the best scenes in the movie. Maybe the heart of the whole film (either that or the dinner flashback at the very end). I love how Fredo looks like a pathetic and weakened version of a young Vito in that moment. As Vanessa says, Cazale was a fantastic actor. Woefully underrated by the awards circuit in his relatively brief time as an actor, but remembered fondly by succeeding generations. They made a whole documentary about him, with the likes of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sam Rockwell singing his praises. So evidently he made a strong impression on them. A real actor's actor. Much as I love him as Fredo, I think my favourite performance of his is in Dog Day Afternoon. He doesn't have to do much to feel palpably unhinged in that movie.

I've always tentatively agreed that The Godfather 2 is better. It's a tough call to make, given the original has Brando giving his most iconic performance. And the original has the Moe Greene scene in it, which might be my favourite scene in either movie. In the case of The Terminator though, I have to remain loyal to the original. I'm much more of a horror fan than I am action, and I guess the first movie appeals more to my horror fan sensibilities.

Two Lane Black Top. It's a cult classic, I was told by my OH who loved it. Me... not so much.

I haven't actually seen that since I was a kid. I remember at the time I mostly watched it for Christopher Walken, who I was really quite fascinated by.

The Godfather Part III

Not quite as bad as its reputation suggests, but still obviously nowhere near as good as the first two. My main issue with the movie is Michael passing the torch to Andy Garcia's character, who, though well acted, has absolutely none of the charm of the previous generation of Corleones.

…yeah I would say that in its own right and as a stand alone movie, it would definitely be for me one of the top ones….but as part of a trilogy standing alongside the other two…?…it just starts to fall a bit…poor Andy Garcia, walking in the shoes of Vito and Michael…those are hard shoes to step into…

…yeah he’s a great actor, I do like him a lot and I do think that Godfather Part 3 was a good movie in its own rights and looked at as a stand alone…?…it was always going to be difficult to follow Vito and Michael…not necessarily because of the actors…(…who are also perfection…)…because of the characters also…but I didn’t mind the third movie and Andy Garcia is a great actor…

…Never Let Go……it was billed as a horror/suspense…it didn’t quite get there for me though…it was just one of those movies/storylines that left too many questions and all the way through, felt as though it was going to fall into place and get going but it didn’t…it did have a bit of a From vibe, though…I didn’t hate it or anything…it just didn’t really leave me with any thoughts that I feel it intended to…5/10…
