Havoc. Tom Hardy. He's a cop, drug deal gone wrong, seemingly inexhaustible ammo, endless shooting without one reload. Good fun if you can suspend your disbelief. 7/10. Although 10/10 for Tommo as always.

…Vivarium….…this was billed as a Sci Fi/Horror …it was…weird…
Spoiler:

…how a young couple get trapped in a house and can’t escape it, even burning it to the ground it just rebuilds itself…and they’re forced to parent a creepy as heck ‘pod/alien child’…
….I don’t know what my thoughts are, it really conveyed the repetitiveness of their existence…but I guess that was the point…I’m sure I might be underscoring it when I think more about it…(…because it is a movie that makes you think…)…but 5/10 for now is what I’ll say…

…Asteroid City……it seems to be a time for me watching weird movies atm…I read that this got a six minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival, surely that could have only been when it was over and the audience could be released from their seats…visually, it’s stunning/perfect…and the cast is as wow as a movie cast could ever be…Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johnson, Margot Robbie, Edward Norton, Bryan Cranston, Steve Carell, Willem Defoe, Matt Dillon, Geoff Goldblum, Tilda Swinton…I mean, it just goes on and on and on endlessly…it’s star studded and then some…so for the cast and how visually stunning it was I’ll say 4/10…

El Camino. Breaking Bad follow up. Tied lots of elements of the show up with a bow. Really enjoyed it 9.5/10. Thanks once again to Niamh for the recommendation.

The Foreigner. Jackie Chan (in a serious role) Pierce Brosnan. Breakaway IRA faction causes havoc, Jackie Chan out for revenge. A decent romp. 8/10

So what did you think about the ending of BB?

Spoiler:

I thought they ended it the best way they could, Jesse saved but traumatised. There really was no coming back for Walt so he got the best redemption he could hope for, in that he saved Jesse and he took responsibility for what he'd done to Skylar and stopped making excuses for himself.

There's no way to forgive him after he killed Mike anyway

Yeah, totally agree with all of that.

Spoiler:

So shocking when he killed Mike, he was such a great character and it was kind of out of the blue, he could have just let him leave. Also, totally gutted when Hank was shot, he was one of my favourite characters I see now why you recommended I didn't google El Camino, it would have given so much away.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing and
Spoiler:

so happy Jesse got to start again.

Better Call Saul next. I like Bob Odenkirk. If you haven't seen 'Nobody' I'd highly recommend it.

I've seen Nobody, enjoyed that too, him, Mike and jesse were my favourites I think

Spoiler:

I loved Hank too, shame he died but again another reason why there was no coming back for Walt

Nobody 2 is out soon.

I thought the woman who played Marie, Hank's wife, was great, totally believable.

When I told you I was watching it and you said you wish you were watching it for the first time... I totally get that now.

Oh good, I'll definitely watch that

She was great, I think you grow to love her over the whole series, she's annoying at first but she's actually a great character and pretty like able. There was so many really well written and fleshed out characters in it. It's just brilliant writing all round

The Highwaymen. Stars Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as Frank Hamer and Maney Gault, the ex-Texas Rangers who went after Bonnie and Clyde. Nice to see a film that concentrates on the good guys and not the murderers. Really enjoyed it 9/10.

I watch it every 5 years or so

Can’t explain why I am drawn to it

…Another Simple Favor……I hadn’t realised that there was a follow up to the original…I loved the first movie, it was a strong storyline and the twists and deceitfulness worked …but I felt this was quite weak in both of those things…Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively were lovely, how could they not be…but their chemistry together wasn’t enough to lift the plot into anything more than it was…it wasn’t the worst movie, but it’s a shame that it was just ok when the original was so much more than that…5/10…

Thunderbolts at the cinema - first MCU movie I've bothered to see on the big screen for years (the last was Spiderman No Way Home).

Very glad that I did, it was actually fantastic and easily the best Marvel movie for years... In fact I'd go as far as to say the beat since Avengers Infinity Wat/Endgame.

Hit the tone just right IMO.

The Bad Guys - It's been awhile since I've watched a Dreamworks or Pixar type of Film tbh.

And I remembered why.

I'll say that the Animation is really good, and that Richard Ayoade does a decent performance in the Film, but that's where my compliments kind of start to end.

Because these were my issues with the Film.

- Unfunny jokes

- Cheesy dialogue in general

- Predictable outcomes to every storyline (I know it's a Kids Film, but on top of the Films other admittedly much bigger flaws, I feel like I can add a nitpick.)

- The Fox character in the Film is heavily favoured by the writers in comparison to the other characters imo. The ending of the Film cements it imo, but it's quite apparent who the creators liked the most in the Film.

- Clunky political messaging about climate change, it lacked any subtlety imo.

I feel like I might be forgetting something else that I wanted to say, but for the life of me I can't think of it right now.

But this Film has honestly made me question if I would even like the older Kids Movies from DreamWorks that I grew up with, if I were to do a rewatch of any of them.

Oh I wanted to watch that last night but i was searching for A Simple favour 2 maybe the universe was intervening, apparently those 2 couldn't stand each other so maybe that's why the chemistry wasn't there. Blake Lively is getting hammered atm publicity wise, so is Ryan Reynolds

I watched The Fallout instead which was about a high school shooting, well mostly the aftermath of one, it's not graphic or anything. It was pretty good 6/10

…..why is that, then…?…I’m always on catch up with celebrity stuff, I know that or I think that Blake had made allegations against an actor’s behaviour on set…is it connected with that, that has lost her/both of them favour…?….I think that I’ve said before that honestly, I find Ryan Reynolds one of the most irritating actors to watch……I try, I promise I do and maybe he’s had a few roles that have been less irritating…I’ll have to go and check and see what they would be though…but Blake always seems delightful enough as an actress and very watchable…

…Another Dimple Favor wasn’t an awful movie or even a bad one…it was just not what the first one was, which sequels often aren’t…I had no expectations with the first so it held that lovely surprise/type thing…I had expectations for the follow up and those disappointed…such is the way at times…

Forced myself to watch the Batman Trilogy as soon as many rave about them … and they leave Netflix next week

Not impressed at all tbh
