Exactly but the optics of having four white characters ganging up and harassing a black character for being "bookish and nerdy" is going to be an issue unless handled very, very carefully. Not for a decade or more to be fair... it doesn't really come into it until book 6-of-7.

Casting hasn’t been confirmed for the four of them yet.

I’m imagining a black actor will play the role of Remus Lupin or Wormtail.

People are too hung up on this because a black man is playing a character that was previously played by a white man.

It’s a reimagining of a movies series, (that people can still watch and enjoy) changes are going to be made. Christ I’ve even seen people moaning about the set for Privet Drive.

The chances of all four Marauders being white are pretty slim, tbh.

It will be interesting when Draco calls Hermione a "Mudblood", and when everyone makes fun of her for protesting the slavery of House Elves!

Snape being black is problemnatic for the storyline IMO - Snape's storyline revolved heavily around his unrequited love for Harry's mum and being marginalised/oppressed by the James Potter group. When I saw Cursed child on the west end Hagrid was black and no one cared, so I don’t see why people are complaining Snape is black. I mean Alan Rickman won’t be beaten but come on now

That's awful, poor kid.

It was such an iconic series of films with some really good actors so it will just take people a bit to get used to them. It's funny, for me the 3 "main characters" Harry, Ron & Hermione are the least important changes, definitely Snape, Hagrid, Prof McGonagall will be the hardest to see played by different actors, oh and Bellatrix
