The figures are likely to reinforce calls for restrictions on benefits for migrants, which Angela Rayner, the Deputy Prime Minister, urged Rachel Reeves to consider in a leaked memo seen by The Telegraph.

Experts suggested the increase reflected a surge in the number of asylum seekers being granted refugee status and in net migration.

Foreign nationals become eligible for Universal Credit and other benefits on the same terms as British citizens once they are granted either indefinite leave to remain or refugee status.

Those figure in the first sentence are outrageous!

Someone is taking the proverbial I suspect

Who's going to pay for it? Right now they're being housed in front of our own people causing discontent. Resources are finite, this cannot continue. The choice seems to be either we welcome them in with open arms, or we're Nazis. I do not accept that, and if we'd done something to stem the tide years ago and make it clear we will only take those who arrive through recognised routes, ie the Red Cross or the UN, things might be different. You cannot seriously believe that all these young, fighting age men are fleeing war? Where are all the women and children? I would be less unhappy if these were desperate families, but they're not. I don't see anyone worrying that the French don't put these people up in hotels and give them all sorts of free stuff like we do. It's why they come. We're a soft touch who'll step over our own homeless to be seen to be supporting migrants.

I will stand up for the influences in my own life and believe they at least match those in your own. The concentration camp where my grandmother lost her whole family and almost lost her own life bears little resemblance to the four star, free med and dental with pocket money life the migrants landing here receive. So I find the comments about how Reform are Nazis, insulting, hysterical and short sighted in the extreme.
That whole post is about migrants.
It's like a cult mantra from Reform and its supporters to be anti migrants.
Once scapegoating starts,it's incredible how many jump on that wagon.

I KNOW what I've heard from Reform supporters directly to my face re migrants.
None of it nice at all.
I was sickeningly disgusted at their attitude.
However there it is.

I'm sorry but I've not a scrap of trust in Reform.
Their scapegoating of migrants for the ills of the UK is how the Nazis got to work on and
sucked in others, that is a fair comparison in my view.

I'll never see other human beings only as undesirable numbers, that is how Reform does and thrives on it too, unfortunately.

That is awful and horrific as to your family.
It is however another reminder of where sowing seeds of distrust of others and scapegoating them for things going wrong can lead.
One of my Uncles was actually physically sick at what he and the forces he was in, found at camps as the war came to a close.
Even in the 2000s, it brought tears from him just giving his account to me of what they found.
As he said to me, all because evil people used power to stop seeing some people actually as people and just numbers to be got rid of.

That doesn't sound that far from the rhetoric of Reform and some of its supporters.
Yet all that Reform go on about is migrants.
Pushing the mantra they are more the undesirable people now.
I don't look at them that way.
I find scapegoating despicable.

Anyhow, I'm wasting my time on here with this.
That's blatantly obvious.

Joe Stalin killed more people than Hitler. He was on the Left, joey, like yourself. How would you feel if people were equating his crimes to your opinions? You wouldn't like it, would you. Neither do I. You once had a bit of a meltdown because I referred to Labour ministers as Red Nazis. Now you're calling all Reform supporters Nazi. I won't have it.

France is part of the ECHR. They put their migrants in tents, they don't house them over their own people. How come they're not Nazis?

People who think we should take every illegal migrant - who are almost exclusively young Muslim men of fighting age - are doing the citizens of their own country a disservice and forgetting the high number of genuine refugees we take every year. If people feel so strongly that the now largest political party in the country is now packed with Nazis because we want to halt illegal migration why not turn your attention, and what sounds more and more like hate, toward countries who take no refugees at all?

I'm finishing this conversation. I like and respect you but I refuse to be called a Nazi or have it inferred that I am.

Nick exposes the left wing elite who laugh at me and you. Powerful stuff as he addresses Lord Hermer

LBC's Nick Ferrari saying Starmer has absolutely no intention of stopping the boats

I know that's his title, but he's dumb like all of them are. In my view.
