When my Grandad inherited the whole farm and land, the lake was massively overgrown, like a puddle really, no fish, just a hole in the ground with water. Took us a winter, but we cut all the over grown branches down, sorted it all out, got on a small boat (capsized once, middle of winter, fully clothed, freezing, my grand couldn't speak through the cold shock, i went the other way, adrenaline pumping, stripping bollock naked (as wet clothes in cold will kill you) and running all through the woods the WRONG way to the truck
) and just sorted it all out. Then added fish, Carp, Tench, Perch etc.
