A little blunder I had during my very-first year at uni., where one of the girls asked me jokingly ‘how do you stay so skinny with all the meat you eat?’ I, in my 12-stone-4 validative self-consciousness, be like ‘Me? Skinny?’ and it sounded like I was offended by what was actually a compliment but I so didn’t mean for it to sound like that. It just slipped out awkwardly. I did kinda backtrack it a couple of seconds later by flipping the question back to someone-else half-jokingly but, honestly, I really hope the girl knew/knows that I didn’t mean it like that. She just caught me at an awkward moment. It wasn’t a big thang but my voice raised very slightly in awkwardness. In reality I was chuffed with the compliment. I think we’ve all had those flashing moments where insecurity and awkwardness hijack grace and the intended response. Especially in your teens, when there’s bound to be a bit of awkward self-consciousness here-and-there anyway. I was 18, so that tracks.

This current era of over-ascribing to ‘neurodevelopmental divergence,’ shall-we-say, I hope, isn’t going to age well. I bet you there’ll be people trying to retract their diagnoses after this nonsense calms down and gets back in its box.

Whether people were right to stand by Funke Adejumo. Or whether at any point she went to go tie one rubbish on her hair and appeal to the better nature of the authorities by feigning innocent, respectable aunty who thinks it’s a sin for women to have their hair uncovered in the church (ugh). No-one seems to really know. Ewo.

Apparently it was something to do with the border control not believing he had a French passport being BLACK … they were suspicious

That’s what I heard anyway

They've clearly never heard of Thierry Henry.

Sooooooo

Labour has today promised to provide a 100,000 charging points to kick start the electric car revolution …

What good is 100,000 when there’s 35 MILLION cars/drivers in the country ?

What are they doing about the weight of electric vehicles damaging roads and collapsing multi-storey car parks? Or the dangerous batteries that burst into flames, wouldn't want one in my garage. And the Lithium for the batteries, mined by some of the world's poorest and most oppressed people for the profit of big companies. I bet he didn't even mention these problems.

Our neighbour across the cul de sac has an electric ( works) car …

Has lots of issues

Has to work out each evening the next day’s route and plan where to charge up mid trip

Some mornings we’ve seen him nearly ripping the wire out of the wall.. wrapping it up roughly then throwing it angrily into the backseat before driving off ..

Occasionally it just dies and they send someone out to get it going , occasionally they have to actually take it away for a few days .. its a Volkswagen ..

I more than anyone hate the over-subscription to neurodivergence these days but I like how a lot of red-pillers/incels are now being considered simply autistic.

I just hope people who don’t have cause to celebrate fathers’ day (through the grief of loss, through estrangement, whatever) are okay today. Because the fathers’ day message this year is loud.

Like, seriously. We don’t support people dealing with (e.g.) grief on Fathers’ Day enough. It helps to remember that not everyone has cause to celebrate today. People like that don’t need it shoved in their faces.

The Incels are something alright.

The one thing that I have been pondering for awhile now, is why we have a culture war (on the Internet at least,) around Carnivores and Vegans?

Just like the food that you personally enjoy, and ignore what anyone else is eating.

As long as it's not Cannibalism, Cats, or Dogs that is.
