We currently have a green bin for food and garden waste and we don't pay for it. I'll be writing to my local mp if they start charging. What are we paying council tax for???

Yes,
many zones are not the same.

But Garden Waste costs more to collect

I agree Kate
it should be from the Mega Council Tax Bill

BBC Video report on this NEW 5 BINS

[North Hertfordshire District Council
has said the new system, which will begin
on 4 August, will help reduce the amount
of landfill waste and keep recycled paper dry.

Under a policy called
Simpler Recycling the government wants
all councils in England to offer four
containers and an extra for garden waste.

In Hertfordshire this includes
a food waste bin, another for cardboard
and paper, an additional recycling bin
and a non-recyclable waste container.]

We currently have 3 bins and a small food waste caddy

Brown for garden stuff...60.00 extra a year
Green for general rubbish
Grey for all recycling, which is funny because we used to have to separate glass and paper where we used to live then they slung it all in together when picked up
Food is picked up weekly the rest every two weeks
